About N&T

About ‘Now And There’ (and… What’s With The Name?)

The focus is on the subjects of presence (now) and travel (there). Some of the writings borrow directly from other sources and blogs.

Core Concepts

  • LIFESTYLE DESIGN: Its self-awareness and ambition – It’s taking a risk, and throwing out all the excuses for why you can’t have it all. (more)
  • MINDFULNESS: The calm awareness of one’s body functions, feelings, content of consciousness, or consciousness itself. (more)
  • PERSONAL GROWTH (“Kaizen”): The philosophy or practices focusing on continuous improvement of activities, and even life in general,. (more)
  • TRAVEL: Places seen, experiences lived, tips learned.
  • WORK/LIFE BALANCE: A broad concept including proper prioritizing between career and ambition on one hand, compared with pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development on the other. (more)

About The Author

Life should be exactly what you want it to be. Define the conventions which blend short and long term personal and professional interests.

I enjoy a passion for life and for learning. I love finding new experiences, and sharing old ones together. I moved to the West Coast of the U.S. in 2000 and still love exploring all the area has to offer. I like people-watching, people-meeting, and all that. I am happy to sit back and relax, but much of the time, I am out trying to take in as much fun as this place has to offer. I’m gonna keep that innocence and openness forever.

For Fun:
I stay pretty active; skiing, running, and surfing regularly. Also hiking, tennis, and biking. I love cooking, dating, movies, games, dinners, and great conversation. Funny, smart, passionate, genuine people make great company

My Job:
I get to be creative every day and manage others who are creative-types too. I am ambitious in my career, love it, and have been very successful.

My Education:
Received honors, graduated with a technical / creative degree, and with many interesting-to-me (but pointless) minors.

Favorite Hot Spots:
I love the beach and love living close in Venice. I tend to call my most recent travel destination my favorite – wherever that was. Weekend trips are always a blast. Flying is great, but driving is great too (especially with good company).

Favorite Things:
Movies that make you think, books that make you feel, anything that makes you learn, and TV that lets you vege-out.

Last Read:
“Happiness”, “The Four Agreements”, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”, “A New Earth”, “Secrets of Consulting”, “The Power of Now”, “The Kite Runner”, “Lies My Teacher Told Me”, “In the Praise of Slowness”, “Ageless Body / Timeless Mind”… Anything self-help, travel, how-to, effectiveness, or art-history related.
